Here is an interesting item:  The SEAS H456 soft dome tweeter, but with a twist.  The diaphragm of these units is not treated with the usual soft latex compound.   One might think this would not work very well, but, in fact,  these actually work quite well.  Response is quite smooth, especially off axis, with a notable lack of raggedness in the curve, and excellent efficiency.  We wonder why this design (or similar designs) has not been more popular…
