The PR10E30ALR-D8 is a medium output 10″ dual coil woofer with a lightweight, rigid aluminum alloy cone and rubber surround.  It is intended for high fidelity usage (emphasis on that part!) in 3 and 4-way systems, as either a medium power dual coil subwoofer, or as a woofer used in (primarily) WMTMW or WWMTM type systems.  It also functions well as an upper bass driver in large systems.  The aluminum alloy cone body and rubber roll make the speaker totally free from performance and efficiency changes due to humidity, which affects most paper body cones.  The aluminum cone body is also completely free of shifts in performance due to changes in temperature(1), which affects polypropylene and most other plastic cones, and even many paper body cones.

Notes:

(1)  Cone preformance shifts due to temperature can be caused by ambient temperature changes, or by heat from the voice coil.  Voice coil heat and associated heating of the magnet structure and nearby areas in particular can noticeably soften plastic cones near the voice coil attachment.
