The PR-SB-TWD25NH-05-08-mod2 is our PR-SB-TWD25NH-05-08-mod1, a high efficiency 1″ soft dome tweeter with a neodymium magnet, plus a heat sink we add, pre-mounted on an adaptor so it can fit in place of your tweeter.  Pictured is this model on an adaptor to fit in place of the popular Infinity High Output Polycell dome tweeter, such as the 902-2638 or the 902-4270.  This unit makes for an excellent replacement of a High Output Polycell dome tweeter, and several other Infinity “8 ohm” tweeters, in cases where replacement with Infinity parts is too expensive.  See our “extensive discussion” about the Infinity PolyCell tweeters on the Infinity Polycell High Output 1″ Dome Tweeter Replacement page.  The impedance is slightly lower than some of the Infinity tweeters, but it seems to work out well with Infinity’s crossovers — we have yet to have a customer disappointed in these.*      

This unit is useful in many similar situations, as in most cases, we can make up an adaptor to work with your speaker.   It is a 6-7 ohm tweeter, which is very helpful, as most compact neo-magnet tweeters available are 4 ohm units.  As noted above, it can be used as a replacement in most “nominal 8-ohm” applications.  We can also vary the heat sink height and size as needed if you have limited space to work with, etc.  Pictured is one of our “medium” heat sinks for this unit.

*As Paul updates this page (8/11/10), our most recent purchaser of two of these called a couple days ago to comment on how pleased he was with the smooth “buttery” sound of his revived Infinity speakers.  We haven’t quite figured out exactly what “butter” sounds like, but it seems to be a good thing!
