Garden of the Gods, in Southern Illinois, along with Pounds Hollow Lake, has become a favorite place for us to go take a break, this summer. It’s not too far away (under 1-1/2 hours driving time), and hiking there first, and then cooling off with a swim at Pounds Hollow makes for a great time!
